These teams are for junior athletes whose primary athletic focus is volleyball. CRÛ offers a high-level volleyball experience in the winter and spring phases of the year which is optimal for players with collegiate aspirations. Team training and competition is vital for growth, but there are other essential elements required for playing at the next level, so the four month MAX programs focus on:
1. Player and skill development during the Winter Advanced Training Block (January/February)
2. Team practice and high-level competition during peak college recruiting season (March/April)
Potential Tournament Cities- Seattle, Spokane, Las Vegas, Salt Lake, Reno, or Dallas. (3 tournaments)
This may not be the traditional practice in most clubs, but it follows an intense high-level training model, is during the peak time for the highest competition and recruiting exposure, is budget friendly, and promotes a balanced lifestyle.

CRÛ will not hold MAX Performance teams if we cannot fill most positions with players of preferred qualifications.
Competing is part of the growth but has become the sole emphasis of youth sports. CRÛ follows the model collegiate and higher-level programs have to develop athletes, skill and skill application. A typical NCAA annual schedule for college volleyball is as follows:
Mid-January to February 15th | Winter Athletic and Skill Development |
Mid-February through April | Spring Competitive Season |
May through Mid-June - | Rest/Recovery |
June through early August | Summer Athletic and Skill Development |
Mid-August through Nov/Dec | Fall Competitive Season |
December | Rest/Recovery |
CRÛ MAX is designed to focus on the winter and spring model. The schedule is similar to what NCAA Division I and II college programs do for their student-athletes. Summer Training and Junior National Championship Tournaments are options, but CRÛ MAX primarily focuses on winter and spring development. This leaves time for rest/recovery, camps, USA or all-star opportunities, other sports, and of course personal downtime before high school season begins.
Peak Time for Competition and College Recruiting
CRÛ MAX will focus on player development when there is limited recruiting and compete during the peak time for the highest-level competition and college recruitment. Division 1 colleges cannot evaluate prospects face to face in December, January, and May. All other NCAA divisions as well as NAIA and 2-year colleges can evaluate all year round at tournaments. CRÛ will attend national caliber tournaments only when all divisions are able to recruit.
Budget Friendly and Personal Life Balance
It is becoming more challenging for athletes to afford club and balance their time throughout the year. The fear of missing out is a leading cause for athlete burnout, excessive financial obligations, and stalling athletic development in our youth because they feel they need to be training all the time and competing eight to nine months out of the year (September to November) and in club (January to May/June). Travel teams can play eight to ten tournaments making it difficult to keep up with rising travel costs. CRÛ is offering a program that concentrates on a time where high level training can occur, to play against the highest level of competition, and getting maximum exposure while allowing time for athletes to recover, enjoy life outside athletics, and save money. All with the peace of mind that this is a model higher level programs use for optimal development.
These teams are designed to teach the game, develop skills, and expose players to advanced concepts. These teams are more training-based but will compete in some tournaments.
This is a great feeder into our MAX Performance Programs.
This is our U18 Team. It is for seniors who are committed or intend to play in college. This team will have a limited, competitive playing schedule and practice two days a week.
Younger players may be placed on this team, but only by the club's discretion. All non-seniors must tryout out for our other teams before being placed on the College Prime Team.
This is either a current performance team that has qualified for postseason or a tryout team for a summer tournament.
